Does a VPN change your iPhone's GPS location?

Short answer: no. A VPN changes the IP address your internet traffic comes from — it does not touch your iPhone's GPS. Here's the difference, and which tool you actually need.

If Maps, Weather, a fitness tracker, or a location game still shows where you really are even with a VPN on, this is why: those apps read GPS, and a VPN never changes GPS.

What a VPN actually changes

A VPN routes your internet traffic through a server somewhere else and hides your real IP address. To websites and online services, you appear to be in the server's country. That's useful for privacy and for IP-based region locks — but it works at the network level only.

What a VPN does not change

Your iPhone works out its physical position from GPS satellites, nearby Wi-Fi, and cell towers — not from your IP address. A VPN can't touch any of that. So any app that asks the phone "where are you physically?" still gets your real spot, VPN or not.

What a GPS location changer does

A location changer like PinWarp changes the GPS coordinates iOS reports to apps. Every app that reads your location — maps, weather, social, games, fitness — sees the new spot. No jailbreak, and your real location returns with one click.
